Can you guess what this is?
It’s puréed spinach and kale mixed with organic applesauce. I then put it in a small Ziploc bag, cut a tiny corner off and squeeze little dollops onto wax paper before putting it into the freezer.
It’s the only way I can get any vegetables into his mouth these days. I think because he’s teething the frozen bit must feel good, but also taste good. He can eat about 20-30 of these little guys and it’s the equivalent of a small bowl of spinach.
Sometimes I also mix Green Machine by Naked bought at Whole Foods into his breakfast. He loves strawberry smoothies for breakfast mixed with Green Machine too. He thinks he’s big stuff when he eat a smoothie like daddy does.
What concoctions have you made in order to make sure your child is getting the proper amount of vegetables?
I just add in veggies to casseroles. Luckily, my kids aren’t picky about fruits and veggies, it’s getting meat/lean protein into them that is hard. The majority of the day/evening, they snack on raw veggies and fruits.
